According to new reports, the Xiaomi SU7 luxury sports saloon is preparing to go into mass production. This is slated to kick off later this month after the end of the Chinese New Year holiday and festive season. So from February 19, we expect the manufacturing plants responsible for the production of this vehicle to kick off mass production.
For starters, the production plant will focus on rolling out 2000 vehicles in March. This is much expected because this is a new vehicle that launched last year, and it’s coming from a brand that’s new in the EV industry. After the first batch of vehicles hits the market, it’ll be made available to those who pre-ordered as well as dealerships.
The performance of the sales will then be monitored for a while before ramping up production of this new vehicle. From the reports, it seems like Xiaomi aims to maintain production of 10,000 vehicles per month at a point in the production cycle. In the meantime, the company will produce 2000 vehicles for supply in March and gradually increase production through the coming months.
By July, Xiaomi might step into the phase of producing 10,000 vehicles per month. Until then, we look forward to seeing the rollout of the first production batch, which might take place in the coming weeks. Because this vehicle will come in different trim levels, the first batch of vehicles will be spread across these trim levels.
The prices of the various trim levels of the Xiaomi SU7 are mere speculations at this time. But the Xiaomi SU7 Max, which is the top trim level, might launch with a CNY 361,400 (€47,300) price tag. More details on pricing will become available in the coming days after its production kicks off.
