We are yet to see the launch of the coming Apple Vision Pro, but the Zoom app for this device is already available. The conference call service provider took to its newsroom to share details on the new app for Apple’s first AR device. According to the firm, this new app will help “users the ability to connect with colleagues and customers in a more real-world, immersive environment.”
Following the design of the Apple Vision Pro VR headset, Zoom is designing its app to enable users to interact with their environment while video conferencing. Zoom also goes on to highlight five features that are available on their VR app for the coming device. Each of these features is tailored to meet the needs of the users of these apps as they go about their Zoom meetings.
The five features in question are Personas, Spatial Zoom experience, 3D object sharing, Zoom Team Chat, and Real-world pinning. Each of these features will rely on the much-advertised Apple visionOS that the coming VR device will run on. All these features will help users not only join but also collaborate and effectively contribute to the team meetings that they’ll be part of using the Zoom app for the Apple Vision Pro.
Personas simply refers to the spatial representation of the app’s users, and it’ll track facial and hand movements for a more immersive experience. The Spatial Zoom experience creates an adjustable immersive background for users. The 3D object-sharing tool will help users share files from one person to another within the app as they would in real life.
Team chat will make sharing information with members of the meeting easier for each participant. Lastly, the Real-world pinning feature will help users of the Zoom app on the Vision Pro pin up to five meetings in their space. In a few days, Apple fans who use Zoom will be able to make use of this app on their VR headset.
