Package contents
The first thing that greets the user is a sturdy box in ROG’s signature red and black colours. On the front we see a stylish image and the full name of the accessory, and on the back we see a brief description of its main advantages. We open it and see the headphones themselves, fixed in a plastic holder. Behind it is a box with a set of spare ROG hybrid ear cushions and a USB-C to USB-A adapter. At the bottom of the box is a quick start guide and a warranty card.
Design and ergonomics
The ROG FUSION II 300 is an RGB-backlit gaming headset that is compatible with PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch platforms. The headset retains the signature design of the ROG STRIX FUSION series, which combines restraint and boldness, elegance and audacity.
The main body of the headphones is made of matte plastic. It is pleasant to the touch and non-marking, i.e. it does not leave fingerprints during use. The ear cushions and the inside of the headband are made of foam and covered with artificial leather. They are soft, well insulated, and do not put pressure on the ears and head. The headset comes with a set of replacement ear cushions that can be used when the main pair wears out. The headband consists of three parts and is conveniently adjustable thanks to a steel insert built into its body. The cups can be rotated 90 degrees in one direction. The design of the headphones is very comfortable: they hold securely, do not fall off, and do not put pressure even after prolonged use. The assembly is of high quality, the headset does not play or creak.
Each cup has inserts with Aura RGB lighting that supports 16.8 million colours. You can customise the lighting effects in the Armoury Crate app, choosing the look you like best or that suits your gaming setup. By the way, the backlight is easily synchronised with other ASUS devices via Aura Sync.
The main control buttons are located on the left cup of the headset. A small toggle switch turns the microphone on and off, which is convenient for gaming. Below it is the volume control wheel. It performs two functions simultaneously:
- scrolling the wheel controls the audio volume
- single click on the wheel – switches the 7.1 virtual sound environment on and off
There is an LED indicator next to it: if it is constantly lit red, the 7.1 mode is on.
It should be noted that this model of headphones is wired, connected via a non-removable USB Type C cable, 2 m long. The cable is hidden under a tight nylon wrap. The package also includes a USB-A adapter that allows you to connect the headphones to a device without a Type C connector. From a functional point of view, this decision is quite justified: the presence of the cable allows you to transmit the maximum sound quality. From the point of view of device ergonomics, it is not very convenient. The cable somewhat limits the distance to the computer and the user’s movement.
Otherwise, ROG FUSION II 300 is an impeccable gaming headset with deep, surround sound, convenient controls, and high-quality materials.

Technical capabilities
The ROG FUSION II 300 headphones are designed to fully immerse you in the gaming world. Without exaggeration, this is a high-quality, powerful and modern accessory. This is evidenced by their technical features, namely:
- ESS 9280 DAC with Quad DAC technology used for high-quality sound processing. This technology includes four digital-to-analog converters, each of which is responsible for different parts of the range
- The SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) is 130 dB, which is considered ultra-high due to the power of the DAC
- 50mm ASUS Essence drivers deliver deep sound and clear bass, which are essential for creating atmosphere and ambience in games
- Surrounding, realistic sound is delivered in 7.1 mode, which is powered by the unique ROG Hyper-Grounding technology. This gives the player the feeling of being in the very centre of the action
- AI Beamforming microphones create a directional acoustic zone, canceling out all extraneous noise and ensuring clear voice transmission
- The noise cancellation system detects any background noise and completely absorbs it, providing the clearest sound possible. This means that the user will not hear anything unnecessary, such as keystrokes or mouse clicks, while playing games
As a result, we have a lot of advantages that are a priority for demanding players and connoisseurs of realistic, powerful and surround sound.
Armoury Crate software
The in-ear app extends the headphone experience. It allows users to play around with the settings, optimise the sound, select the backlight mode they like, or create their own lighting effects in the Aura Creator menu. Let’s take a closer look at which tabs are available for use:
- Audio. The tab is conventionally divided into two parts: on the left, there are volume settings, a channel mixer control panel, bitrate, and recording; on the right, there is an audio optimisation menu that allows you to control the sound manually.
- Backlighting. There are 6 preset visual effects and Aura Creator, where you can create your own effects. The Aura Sync function helps you synchronise the headphone backlight with other devices in your set.
- Firmware updates. Allows you to keep track of available firmware updates for your device.
Impressions of use
First of all, I’ll say as a music lover: I was very pleased with the sound quality and voice clarity, which really delighted me. The headphones are convenient to connect not only to a PC or console. Thanks to Type C, you can even connect them to your smartphone to enjoy music while relaxing on the couch. But the lack of Bluetooth connectivity was a bit disappointing.
But as a gamer, I want to note how cool the 7.1 system and noise cancellation are implemented. Walking around in RE:Village headphones, I really felt the environment in a cool way, and every sound made my heart sink, play a game, if not yet, you will understand. When you play for a long time, your ears do not get tired, because the cups completely cover their surface and do not put pressure on the auricles. That’s why ROG FUSION II 300 is a truly desirable gaming accessory that will meet all the requirements for such devices.
