According to an email obtained by Bloomberg Samsung suspends shipments of smartphones, chips, and consumer electronics to Russia. The company did not specify, whether or not it would suspend all business operations (Samsung has plants in Russia), but Samsung is actively monitoring the complex situation.
“Our thoughts are with everyone who has been impacted and our priority is to ensure the safety of all our employees and their families,” Samsung said in the statement to Bloomberg.
In addition, the company is donating $6 million, including $1 million in consumer electronics products, to humanitarian efforts in the region, according to an official tweet from Samsung Ukraine.
