ChatGPT has conquered the entire Internet. But today, many tools have been developed that also use artificial intelligence.
Some experts say that we are on the verge of a revolution in the use of artificial intelligence technologies. Earlier, we talked a lot about various machine learning algorithms, which are the basis for, for example, voice assistants and robotic systems. Active research on artificial intelligence began around the 1950s, but the most high-profile events occurred in November 2022, when the popular ChatGPT debuted. Everyone started writing about artificial intelligence and communicating with it. The massive application of AI algorithms in various fields began.
Artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly popular
Artificial intelligence (AI) technology has recently gained a lot of popularity among users. For about six months now, more and more tools have been appearing on the Internet that use this technology and, based on people’s text queries, create various types of content, such as complex images or texts, from answering simple questions to writing essays, books and even computer program codes.
Such tools can, among other things, create knowledge tests and crack access passwords. The most popular tool at the moment is undoubtedly ChatGPT, which premiered last year and has contributed to a huge increase in interest in AI solutions.
What is artificial intelligence anyway?
There are many definitions of this concept on the web, but the most important is that intelligence is demonstrated by devices, not people. Of course, it’s not really devices, but their software.
What is artificial intelligence? The general definition of artificial intelligence – Artificial Intelligence, or AI – is the imitation, with the help of appropriate devices, mainly computers, or with the help of systems and applications, of certain processes and tasks that are usually performed by humans. Artificial intelligence is capable of what for years seemed to be an exclusively human domain – learning from experience. It collects expert knowledge and creates a data set based on modelling and algorithmic systems. However, this is not surprising, as the enormous computing power of computers is capable of solving complex mathematical problems that would take an ordinary person several years of their life to solve.
Artificial intelligence is, simply put, software that performs complex tasks while increasing its capabilities based on pre-processed data. These programs automatically receive and analyse data, which enables them to “learn and grow”. All of this contributes to the aforementioned increase in the efficiency of machine learning algorithms.
This is, of course, a very simplistic definition, but this is not the time for theoretical discussions on this topic. Certainly, many people are more interested in the practical possibilities of this technology and how it can be used in everyday life. Below are five of the most well-known AI tools that anyone can use. In some cases, you need to pay for access, in others, you don’t. However, these amounts are quite small compared to what these tools can do. You should also realise that for a few dollars, you can now access a technology that offers incredible possibilities.

ChatGPT – a language model for writing texts, translating, answering questions
One of the most famous and best tools for creating content using artificial intelligence is ChatGPT, which has been breaking records in popularity since the end of last year. This solution is known to be developed by OpenAI. The tool generates textual answers to questions and is used, among other things, for customer service, creating content such as articles or product descriptions, translating texts, and even creating simple programs or finding bugs in code.
To check out the features of this tool, go to the official ChatGPT website, register, and start chatting with it. Access is free, but additional features are available for a fee. More detailed instructions on how to use the OpenAI chatbot can be found in our article below.

Bing AI – a language model and graphics creation tool
Bing AI chatbot is a tool that uses artificial intelligence technology based on the GPT model created by Microsoft. You can use it through the Microsoft Edge web browser. Update it to the latest version and then click the Bing icon in the upper right corner.
The tool can, for example, summarise articles on the website you are browsing, and you can also chat with it, as in the case of ChatGPT. Bing AI can also create images based on a given description.
I even managed to talk to Bing AI and interview it. It told me a lot of interesting things. If you are interested, you can read a separate article on this topic.
Midjurney – a tool for generating photorealistic graphics
Unlike ChatGPT, Midjurney is a tool used to create images, and like the solution offered by OpenAI, it is very popular. Midjurney can create both photorealistic and abstract images. To do this, all you need to do is enter the appropriate command, which is a detailed description of the expected image. To use this tool, you need to use the Discord application, i.e. a popular messenger, and join the Midjourney server.
Midjourney has some limitations due to the popularity of the platform. To keep the servers up and running, the developers provide free access limited to 25 operations or attempts. This limit includes any commands that require the use of neural networks, including the re-generation of the same image with a different result and the image zoom function. Therefore, we recommend using the paid version, the basic subscription to which costs $10 per month or $96 per year.
D-ID is a model for generating the face of a character speaking a given text
D-ID offers completely different capabilities than the tools described above. Whereas ChatGPT generates text and Midjurney works with images, D-ID is an online program that can generate the face of any character, which will also speak the text entered by the user. The tool is integrated with the aforementioned ChatGPT, so that the text generated by the OpenAI tool can be spoken by a virtual character, making the content much more attractive.
To use this tool, go to the D-ID website, register and start creating. It should be noted that you can use this tool for free for 14 days. If you want something more and longer, there is a paid subscription to D-ID. The cheapest subscription plan will cost you $6 per month. Believe me, it’s worth it.
DALL-E 2 – a graphics generation tool, a competitor to Midjurney
Like Midjurney, DALL-E 2 is an image generator, and like ChatGPT, it was created by OpenAI. Experts and journalists are divided on which AI tool is the best for creating images. Some say that Midjurney, described above, deserves this name, while others say that it is DALL-E 2. The principle of operation of both tools is almost the same, and images are generated based on the entered command. In addition to creating new images, DELL-E 2 can expand images by adding additional elements to them.
DALL-E 2 is able to add elements to existing images and create graphics inspired by other works. To see how the tool works, simply visit the DALL-E 2 website DALL-E 2 and register. Most importantly, the app is completely free, which makes it very attractive to users.
Stable Diffusion 2 – a graphical generator with publicly available source code
The last on our list is a very interesting programme called Stable Diffusion 2. Like DALL-E 2 and Midjurney, it creates images based on the commands you enter. We decided to mention this tool because its source code, along with detailed training data and the algorithms involved, are publicly available to anyone. You can use the programme both online and on your computer once it is installed.
This solution provides even more opportunities for the development of this technology, as everyone can participate in this process. Stable Diffusion 2 is available for free on stability.ai.

Summary
As you can see, there are already quite a few tools that use artificial intelligence algorithms. Each of them is interesting and unique in its own way. But they all have in common that they help the user to join the AI world in every possible way.
In my personal opinion, the best publicly available AI-based tools at the moment are ChatGPT and DALL-E 2. The former is used to generate texts, while the latter creates images based on descriptions. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg, as the number of such solutions is growing rapidly. Let us know in the comments what tools of this type you have used and what interesting things you have managed to generate with their help.
