EA banned players from Russia and Belarus from participating in FIFA and Apex Legends tournaments.
Very mind ban all things considered
The reason is obvious — the unprovoked Russian aggression against Ukraine. Now clubs and players from Russia and Belarus will not be able to take part in Apex Legends Global Series and EA Sports Fifa 22 Global Series tournaments.

It seems, though, that there’s a workaround: the ban is not based on citizenship, but merely on the country of residence. The info comes from 9impulse — a professional player from Belarus.
“Players from Russia and Belarus were banned from participating in tournaments if they are in these countries. I’m allowed to play, the admins have already said so.”
