Brave1, a cluster for the development of military technologies in Ukraine, announced a search for developments to counter FPV and commercial drones such as those produced by DJI and Autel.

“The use of commercial and FPV drones has fundamentally changed the way modern warfare is conducted,” the team said in a statement on its official Facebook page. – However, not only do we massively use these affordable solutions to destroy equipment worth millions of dollars, but also the enemy. So we need effective protection and countermeasures.”

To more effectively counter these drones, Brave1 is looking for new solutions and teams/developers working in the following areas:

  • Detection
  • Means of physical destruction and/or active protection
  • Means of influencing ELRS, TBS control protocols in a wide range and at non-standard frequencies and firmware.

The above applies to countering FPV drones. In the issue of countering commercial drones, Brave1 is interested in developments in the following areas:

  • Detection of DJI, Autel, including flashed and/or anonymized
  • Means for physical destruction of commercial drones
  • Disruption of the mission by influencing the control protocols of DJI, Autel, in particular, and firmware devices.

“If you have a ready-made solution that can be put into production, fill out the form at this link,” the message on the cluster page adds. If the development meets all the requirements, Brave1 representatives will inform about it and discuss further support for the development and refinement of the solution. “You will be able to communicate directly with our experts, military personnel and operators and later demonstrate your solution at the test site,” the message reads. Applications are accepted until April 28.

In addition, those who do not yet have a ready-made solution, but are extremely motivated and willing to unite and work on its search, are also invited to join. To do this, you need to fill out the form at this link. Brave1 brings together ready-made teams and individual developers to create effective solutions for countering FPV and commercial drones and will help to communicate directly with cluster experts, and the military and subsequently demonstrate their solutions on the test field. These applications are also accepted until April 28.

Brave1 also recently announced the search for a UAV solution that would be able to effectively intercept enemy reconnaissance drones such as ZALA, Orlan, and SuperCam and thus not waste valuable air defence forces.

Let me remind you, earlier we wrote that as a result of a successful special operation of the GUR in cooperation with the Air Force, a Tu-22M3 strategic bomber-missile carrier was shot down. The enemy plane was one of those that carried out a missile attack against Ukraine on the night of April 19. The attack was combined and, in addition to various types of missiles, included 14 strike UAVs of the “Shahed-131/136” type. All drones were shot down.
