The cluster for the development of military technologies in Ukraine, Brave1, announces the search for a solution for UAVs capable of effectively intercepting enemy drones. This was reported on the cluster’s official Facebook page.

Reconnaissance drones like Orlan, SuperCam, or ZALA deployed along the front line effectively serve as the eyes for Russian artillery and strike drones. “Our goal is to bring together developers and engineers who will create efficient solutions for neutralizing enemy reconnaissance drones – ZALA, Orlan, SuperCam,” Brave1’s announcement stated. “This technology will help combat enemy drones without expending valuable resources of our air defense forces.”

Key requirements for the development include the ability to intercept targets traveling at speeds of 100-150 km/h and at an altitude of 1500 m. Additionally, the development should demonstrate how the interceptor receives preliminary target information from the detection system, how its onboard systems detect, capture, and track the target, and how the interceptor is directed towards the target to ensure conditions for engagement.

Brave1 invites drone developers to fill out the form at this link if they have a ready solution. If the development meets the requirements, cluster representatives will contact the developer for further support, development, and refinement of the solution. “You will be able to communicate directly with military personnel and operators, and later demonstrate your solution in the field,” the announcement says. Applications will be accepted until April 7th.

The cluster for the development of military innovations and defense technologies in Ukraine, Brave1, was launched in April of last year, and it currently operates in five directions:

  • Invest – providing grants to developers who meet the needs of the Security and Defense Forces
  • Invent – assisting the Security and Defense Forces in finding effective technological solutions
  •

Platform – creating a platform that brings together stakeholders in the industry

  • Showcase – interacting with the Defense Forces, demonstrating developments, and receiving feedback
  • Boost – providing support to projects that meet the needs of the Security and Defense Forces

Thanks to the cluster, developments such as the remotely controlled combat robot with a tank machine gun PKT “LYUT”, compact and resilient to electronic warfare digital radio station for intra-unit communication HIMERA, multifunctional ground robotic complex for various combat tasks Ironclad, and others, have been financed.

Just to remind you, we recently discussed Ukraine’s commencement of mass production of ground robotic platforms. Brave1 has tested over fifty such complexes on the range, including kamikaze platforms, turrets, platforms that destroy Russian positions and equipment, mine-clearing platforms, as well as those that evacuate the wounded and supply ammunition to positions.
