Fortnite gamers raised more than $144 million for Ukraine, according to the official Fortnite blog: – “Together with the Fortnite community and Xbox, we raised $144 million USD for Direct Relief, UNICEF, UN World Food Program, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and World Central Kitchen in support of their humanitarian relief efforts for people affected by the war in Ukraine. Our deepest thanks to everyone who contributed.”
Let’s remind that Epic directed all its proceeds from Fortnite from March 20, 2022 to April 3, 2022 to humanitarian relief for people affected by the war in Ukraine. Xbox also joined Epic in these efforts, by committing their net proceeds for Fortnite during this time.
Funds from existing or reactivated extensions of Fortnite Crew subscriptions processed between March 20, 2022 and April 3, 2022 were included. Any new Fortnite Crew subscriptions between March 20, 2022 were credited in the assistance funds.
This program didn’t alter Creator earnings. Epic has separately funded all Creator affiliate payments from code usage between March 20, 2022 and April 3, 2022, so that all of Epic’s Fortnite proceeds earned during that time period can be distributed to humanitarian relief organizations.
