Today, Hugo unveiled a list of nominations for various awards in science fiction and fantasy. Every year, Hugo gets closer and closer to achieving real diversity and inclusion among the nominees.
1,368 valid ballots were received and counted (1,366 electronic and 2 paper ballots) from participants of the 2021 and 2022 World Science Fiction Conventions for the 2022 Hugo Awards.
Voting for the final ballot will open in May 2022, the date of which will be announced later.
Only Chicon 8 members will be able to vote on the final ballot and select the winners of the 2022 Prize. If you are not already a member, you can join the convention through the Chicon 8 website. The award ceremony will take place in Chicago during Chicon 8 from September 1 to 5.
The Hugo Award is an award for achievements in the science fiction. Annual English-language reader’s prize awarded since 1953 for the best science fiction achievements of the previous year at the World Convention of Science Fiction (“Worldcon”) according to the results of voting of its registered participants. It is considered “the highest award for the science fiction.”
