The OnePlus Watch was released in March 2021, and it looks like the time has come for a follow-up to these wearable device: a reliable source says that the more affordable OnePlus Nord Watch will be introduced very soon. Prominent leaker Mukul Sharma says the launch of the OnePlus Nord Watch is “imminent” and mass production has now begun in several European and Eurasian regions.
If Sharma is right, the OnePlus Nord Watch will be a more “budget-friendly” product than the OnePlus smartwatch that came before it (yes, even more “budget-friendly” than the original OnePlus Watch), so don’t expect WearOS on it. To date, we haven’t heard too many leaks surrounding the Nord Watch. Last week, there were rumors that the manufacturer had a number of new devices in the works, including a smartwatch, but nothing specific.
Among other news, OnePlus has also planned to announce a new version of its TWS earphones, this quarter, called Nord Buds CE.
OnePlus already has a wide variety of TWS earphones: Buds, Buds Pro, Buds Z and Buds Z2. The new headphones should be the most affordable member of the family: the price of the Nord Buds CE is rumored to be between $20 and $25.
Unfortunately, little is known about the specs of new earphones. It is likely to support Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, and have some sort of ingress protection, but it is hardly worth counting on an active noise cancellation. The headphones will be available in at least two color options – Moonlight White and Misty Gray. Battery life is currently unspecified.
According to Canalys estimates, in the first quarter of 2022, global shipments of TWS earphones reached 68.2 million units. This is 17% more than a year ago, when the supply was equal to 58.5 million units. Apple remains the industry leader with 21.7 million devices sold and a share of about 31.8%.
