In 2022, POCO introduced several new smartphones, such as the POCO F4 GT, X4 Pro 5G and M4 5G. These models offer good performance, but their price can not be called affordable for a limited budget. However, there is good news for price-concerned users: the king of the budget segment from POCO – POCO C40 is preparing for release.
Some details about the smartphone have already appeared in the POCO Global Twitter account. Yes, it is claimed that the POCO C40 will have an exclusive design, and one of the color options will be the brand yellow (Yellow POCO). The teasers also show that the POCO C40 will receive the largest display and battery for POCO devices: 6.71″ HD+ (1650×720) and 6000 mAh, respectively. Unfortunately, the price of the POCO C40 smartphone is not specified yet.
But screen and battery are not its distinct features. Most Android smartphones today sport either Qualcomm, MediaTek, or Samsung Exynos SoCs, but POCO plans to launch its latest smartphone with an SoC from a company you may not have heard of.
The POCO C40 will have JR510 SoC under the hood, produced by Shanghai-based JLQ. These 3 letters stand for JIC, Leadcore and Qualcomm – which are the main investors of the company, along with Wise Road Capital.
For those interested in specifications, the JR510 has four cores clocked at 2 GHz and four more cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, making this phone octa-core. It will come with a Mali-G52 graphics processor. The phone will also be available in modest 3 GB or 4 GB RAM configurations, and 32 GB or 64 GB of storage. It may sound like its not enough, but we’re looking at an entry-level phone here, after all.
Camera-wise, The POCO C40 will be equipped with a dual camera consisting of a 13-megapixel main camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, with a 5 megapixel shooter on the front.
As for the OS, C40 is expected to run on Android 11 with MIUI 13 for POCO. Connection-wise: 4G, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/Glonass/Galileo are likely to find place in the phone. Also coming: Dual-SIM support, fingerprint scanner, micro-SD card slot (up to 1 TB), USB Type-C port, 3.5 mm audio jack. Device should be pretty big with 169.59 × 76.56 × 9.18 mm dimensions, and a weight of 204g.
According to MySmartPrice, the POCO C40 smartphone will be available in three colors at the start: black, blue and POCO yellow.
