Ukrainian Delta system passes NATO tests and is ready to integrate F-16

Ukraine’s Delta military situational awareness system is ready to integrate Western equipment, including F-16 fighter jets, as the system has successfully passed NATO tests, according to Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology and Minister of Digital Transformation.

Recently, the annual NATO CWIX (Coalition Warrior Interoperability Exercise) exercise to test the interoperability of national combat and information systems with NATO systems and protocols took place in Bydgoszcz, Poland. During the exercise, Delta was successfully tested with 10 systems from 15 countries, including 3 systems developed by NATO experts. Delta once again proved its unique capabilities as all interoperability tests were successful.

In addition, as Mykhailo Fedorov noted in his Telegram post, 4 data exchange protocols were also tested, which are used by most of the modern weapons that Ukraine receives from its Western partners. As a result, it turned out that all of these pieces of modern equipment can be integrated with Delta, which will make their use even more effective.

“The main protocol tested this year is Link 16. It makes it possible to receive data to Delta from F-16 fighter jets, which are so necessary for Ukraine,” said Mikhail Fedorov. – “This is a powerful step. Thanks to Delta, soldiers can see the battlefield online with the location of enemy forces. This is the only platform in Ukraine that pulls in data from aerial reconnaissance, satellites, UAVs, the latest technology, stationary cameras, radars, chatbots, etc.” These systems, he said, allow for high-quality planning of military operations and the destruction of invaders with high efficiency.

He also noted that having a national military system capable of operating to modern Western standards is just as important as having combat pilots who can quickly master the controls of new generation fighter jets. “These are real achievements that Ukraine should be frankly proud of and can boldly demonstrate to its NATO partners,” said Mykhailo Fedorov.

“Ukraine has considerable experience and potential in the field of innovation and application of digital technologies on the battlefield. Our teams at CWIX this year have once again demonstrated how we can quickly create new capabilities and adapt to the needs on the battlefield,” said Vitaliy Deinega, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalisation, in his speech at the Senior Coalition Communication Consortium seminar at CWIX.
