WhatsApp new desktop app is preparing to launch globally

-

The folks at WABetaInfo are noticing that the WhatsApp new desktop app is in its development stage and preparing to launch. With this new update to the WhatsApp beta app, testers are now noticing a banner that is available on the ‘Linked Devices’ page. This banner announces that there is a ‘new desktop app’ available for usage, and it brings a truckload of new features.

At the moment, this new desktop app is not available for usage as it is still in its development stage. This new app will become available soon once it’s stable for everyday usage. Right now, the banner on the WhatsApp beta app is only advertising this coming change to the desktop platform.

Currently, there are a lot of limitations to using the WhatsApp desktop app. Some of these limitations include the inability to post status, and make calls, as well as restrictions from accessing other features native to the mobile app. Due to these limitations, most people can’t fully rely on the WhatsApp desktop app to carry out their daily activities.

The WhatsApp new desktop app will bring a ton of features for users who log in to the platform. Some of these changes and improvements include the ability to make group calls, which is currently unavailable on the desktop platform. This new app will be available on both Windows and Mac systems via an OTP upgrade.

There’s no information on when this new app will be available for usage. But seeing that WhatsApp is already informing beta testers of its arrival, we can expect it to launch soon. Once available, we’ll ensure to update on the abilities and changes that the Meta-owned firm is bringing to the new desktop app.
