Price
On the official HOZO Design website, the NeoRulerGO is priced at €163.95 for the full set. However, at the time of this review, a promotional offer reduces the price to €114,77. Additionally, the ruler itself can be purchased separately for €66.95 (discounted to €53,56), with the option to buy only the specific components you need. This flexible approach adds convenience for users looking to customize their setup.
NeoRulerGO specifications
The NeoRulerGO measures 8.7 × 3.1 × 1.8 cm (or 18.4 × 3.1 × 1.8 cm with the extension for improved handling) and weighs 43 g, increasing to 82 g with the extender attached. It features a 1.14-inch color LCD display and is constructed from plastic, polycarbonate, and 7075-grade aluminum alloy—renowned for its mechanical strength and corrosion resistance, commonly used in military and aerospace applications. The device is powered by a 300 mAh battery, rechargeable via a USB Type-C cable with a 5V/1A input. It also offers IP54-rated water and dust resistance, making it suitable for use in various environments.
The NeoRulerGO offers a measurement increment of 0.5 mm and an accuracy of ±1 mm. While this precision may suffice for general use, it might fall short for applications requiring high-precision measurements. To aid in accurately identifying the start and end points of measurements, the device is equipped with a low-power, Class 2 red-spectrum laser with a wavelength of 635 nm.
Package and description of components
The NeoRulerGO is packaged in a sturdy cardboard box designed to minimize potential damage during transit. The front of the box features an image of the ruler alongside its extender case, while the back showcases the primary components included in the set. The package contains the following items:
- electronic ruler
- extension pencil case
- full-size NeoPencil
- shortened NeoPencil pencil
- replaceable graphite tips for pencils
- stand-container for tips
- charging cord
- additional tires for the ruler wheel
- case
- user manual.
All components of the NeoRulerGO set are organized into seven separate boxes for better protection and organization. Let’s take a closer look at each one.
The largest box houses the case-extension, a shortened NeoPencil, and two spare graphite tips. According to the manufacturer, the NeoPencil offers a more durable and sustainable solution for marking (e.g., sketching or drafting). Each tip is said to replace up to 50 traditional pencils, and the set includes 34 tips in total.
Why a case? Because pressing the button on top releases the lid, revealing an interior compartment. This space can accommodate the small NeoPencil and four spare tips, keeping them neatly organized and easily accessible.
The other boxes contain:
- the electronic line itself
- charging cord (no power supply is included)
- a spare rubber tire for the ruler wheel
- a fairly dense and hard case made of artificial leather (it should protect the device from damage, you can choose one of two color options – black or brown)
- a container with 12 spare graphite tips for the NeoPencil (gray and multicolored). The container itself is made of soft rubber (for better adhesion to the surface and, on top of that, it also serves as an eraser) and has a lid made of the same 7075 aluminum alloy.
- 6 more interchangeable graphite tips and 4 interchangeable “tires” for the line’s impeller (6 in total, including the one that is immediately put on the line)
- full-size NeoPencil made of 7075 aluminum alloy and 2 more replaceable graphite tips.
NeoRulerGO features and application
The NeoRulerGO is highly convenient to use, thanks to its compact size and lightweight design (45 g), making it easy to carry in a pocket. Its protective case ensures safety from potential damage. The device supports seamless switching between various units of measurement, including mm, cm, inches, feet, yards, miles, and km.
This flexibility allows for effortless measurement of any surface, from straight lines to complex curves. Moreover, after completing a measurement in one unit, you can instantly convert the result into another unit with a simple roll of the wheel. For instance, after measuring an object in millimeters, you can view the equivalent measurement in inches with ease.
In “scale mode”, the NeoRulerGO can calculate any scale based on the markings on a drawing. The minimum calculable scale is 1:100,000, while the maximum is 100,000:1. Miles and kilometers are only available in map mode and for scales greater than 1:50,000.
The device has 93 measurement scales preloaded into its “brain,” allowing you to switch between them depending on the tasks at hand. This wide range of scales makes NeoRulerGO versatile for various professional and technical applications.
Another interesting feature of the NeoRulerGO is its ability to interact with a device (smartphone or tablet) via the MEAZOR app, which allows for quick data transfer and storage of measurement results.

iOS:
Using this app, users can optimize their workflow by always having a measuring tool and a storage space for data on hand.
MEAZOR allows for importing, drawing, and editing sketches with an automatic snapping feature. Once the device is connected to the app, the measurements taken will automatically appear on your gadget’s screen, where you can save them and convert them into different units.
The app also allows users to switch the dominant hand (right or left), a feature that can also be adjusted in the NeoRulerGO settings. Additionally, the app offers options to customize scales, language, and more. With its built-in 300mAh lithium-ion battery, the NeoRulerGO can last up to 90 days in standby mode, 30 days with regular use, and 10 hours of continuous use on a single charge. Considering the current circumstances, this is a fairly solid performance.

Using NeoRulerGO
As mentioned earlier, the NeoRulerGO features 93 scales, including 41 standard metric scales and 52 standard American ones. To begin the measurement process, turn on the device and press the button on the left. The measurement indicator will appear on the screen with the zero position, and the laser pointer at the bottom will light up (consisting of two intersecting lines at a 90° angle). This helps accurately position the NeoRulerGO at the starting point of the measurement.
The device must be positioned strictly perpendicular to the surface being measured. Before starting, you can set the desired units of measurement (mm, cm, m, inches, feet, feet + inches). Additionally, after completing the measurements, you can convert the obtained values to other units of measurement. To end the measurement process, simply lift the wheel off the surface and press the button on the left, or tilt the device to a horizontal position.
To charge the device, gently pull up the clip, revealing the charging port on the end. This same procedure is required to install the extension case.
The NeoRulerGO also allows measurements in “corner-to-corner” mode. To activate this mode, after turning on the device, press the button on the right. Then, tilt the device at a 45° angle and align the laser line with the edge of the inner corner to begin measuring.
Conclusions
The NeoRulerGO is more than just an electronic ruler; it’s a technological assistant that can be useful for professionals who occasionally need to make precise measurements. For example, it can serve architects, decorators, designers, and even those working in a carpentry shop.
The ruler features 93 scales, quick conversion of measurement results from one unit to another, a compact size, a solid set of features, good battery life, and synchronization with a smartphone. While it may lack the precision required by engineers, it will undoubtedly be valuable for many other users.
