ASUS announced the new gaming smartphone ROG Phone 8 and even showed its design on a teaser poster. For the first time in several years, the new ROG Phone will not look like the previous one.
The new flagship, unlike ROG Phone 5, ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 7, will get a square camera unit on the back cover. The colour of the body, judging by the poster, is grey. But there should be other colours. It is still unclear whether the new version will have any RGB lighting. Most likely, yes.
If you look closely at the camera block, you can see three sensors and a round flash, as well as a small ROG logo. The company has not yet announced anything about the specifications. It is expected that ASUS will present several versions of the ROG Phone 8. Earlier, in the database of the Geekbench benchmark, the variant of the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate was noted. According to the leak, the smartphone will receive the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and 24 GB of RAM. It is known from the Chinese regulator 3C that the smartphone has passed certification with a 65W charger.
The screen should not be boosted either – it will be at least 120 Hz or even all 144 Hz. The poster says that the premiere will take place “soon”. Either the smartphone will be presented before the end of the year, or as part of CES 2024, which will take place in January 2024.
In the image, you can also note the presence of a USB-C port on the side panel of the device, like the ROG Phone 7 smartphones.
