About Intel Extreme Masters

Events of this scale contribute to the growth of gaming culture, create opportunities to discuss trends, and shape the gaming industry market. Everyone has their favorite game, or even a few. Some have been immersed in the world of gaming for years, while others are just beginning their journey.

Many have played Counter-Strike, Dota, or followed streams at some point, experiencing a variety of emotions. However, there’s a completely different level of excitement when watching professional esports players compete live in a large stadium. This is what IEM is all about – a series of international esports tournaments organized by Intel and ESL (Electronic Sports League). These are among the most prestigious events in the esports world, running since 2006. The most notable stage is IEM Katowice, which annually gathers the best teams and players from across the globe, playing a significant role in the growth of professional esports and helping to promote gaming, technology, and gaming culture.

In addition to the tournament, the event features booths from leading gaming gadget and peripheral manufacturers. Among them are Intel, Acer (Predator), Razer, HATOR, Nintendo, and even brands less directly related to the industry, such as Philips and Red Bull.

Let’s take a closer look at the HATOR booth. The brand was founded in October 2015 by an international group of gaming, esports, and IT enthusiasts. The company’s goal is to develop high-quality and affordable products for gamers, focusing on simplicity, comfort, and quality without the added costs of marketing. HATOR’s product range includes gaming chairs, headsets, keyboards, mice, surfaces, microphones, speakers, TWS earbuds, and accessories.

At the IEM event in Katowice, visitors had the chance not only to watch the activity at the HATOR booth but also to engage with the company’s representatives about each of the showcased products. It was possible to learn some interesting insights and even have a conversation with the head of the software development division.

Analyzing visitor feedback, it’s clear that HATOR’s popularity is driven by a successful balance of price and quality, as well as its active support of the gaming community through participation in significant events like IEM Katowice.

Keyboards

HATOR keyboards are designed for gamers who value reliability, functionality, and ergonomics. The brand’s range includes full-sized models as well as compact TKL (Tenkeyless) versions, without a numeric keypad. For example, the Rockfall 3 TKL Wireless features high-quality mechanical switches, ensuring fast and precise response to key presses.

The available models come in various weight categories. For instance, the HATOR GEO 60% WIRELESS lemon, displayed at the booth, may appear compact but weighs nearly a kilogram. This added weight contributes significantly to its stability during use.

Both wired and wireless versions were showcased. Special attention during the presentation was given to the design of the keys and switches, highlighting the pleasant feel and sound during use. An important advantage is the ability to quickly swap switches, allowing users to adjust key pressure and feedback according to personal preferences. The new models feature a switch for connection options, offering the convenience of either wired or wireless interaction. The keyboards support RGB lighting with flexible settings, helping to create a unique gaming atmosphere. By the way, the booth featured an entire wall of keyboards, each customized with HATOR’s specialized software, creating a display that lit up in various colors, much like a full-fledged piece of art.

During the demonstration, the popularity of the stickers included in the envelopes with HATOR products caught attention.

It was also revealed that the company is working on a magnetic interaction technology for keys. In theory, this technology will allow users to adjust key feedback through software without the need for physical component replacements, thanks to embedded magnets in each key.

HATOR gaming mice

Choosing a mouse is a personal process, so we recommend testing different models to find the optimal solution. HATOR offers both wired and wireless mice with high-precision sensors and ergonomic designs.

The most popular model is the HATOR Stellar Pro Wireless – an ultra-lightweight mouse weighing 52g, equipped with a PixArt 3395 sensor that supports up to 26,000 DPI. The mouse offers three connection modes: 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth, and wired via USB-C, providing versatility in usage. Featuring Kailh GM 8.0 switches with a lifespan of 80 million clicks, it’s ideal for esports. The high battery life (up to 80 hours of wireless use) and ultra-light design ensure comfort even during long gaming sessions. Additionally, the inclusion of a 2-in-1 receiver for USB-A and USB-C eliminates any concerns about connectivity with PCs or gaming laptops that lack USB-A ports.

And that’s not all, as it’s important to pair the mouse with a suitable mousepad to ensure the combo works as intended by the developers. Of course, this isn’t the full range of options, as many mice were showcased. For example, the HATOR Quasar 3 ULTRA 8K Wireless was so popular at the booth that, at one point, staff had to go get a new batch due to high demand.

Headphones and headsets

HATOR headphones are designed for both gamers and users who appreciate high-quality multimedia sound.

The HATOR Hyperpunk Truepods are wireless TWS headphones with active noise cancellation (ANC), helping users focus on music or games without distractions. They feature an IPX4 water resistance rating, making them suitable for use during workouts or outdoors. With minimal sound delay and high-quality drivers, these headphones are also well-suited for mobile gaming.

Among the over-ear headphones, the HATOR Phoenix 2 Wireless stands out. This wireless headset features 40mm drivers with Hi-Res Audio certification, providing detailed sound with a frequency range from 10 Hz to 44 kHz. It supports hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC) and offers multiple connection options: 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 5.4, and wired via USB Type-C. The built-in battery provides up to 45 hours of playback, with a full charge taking approximately 4 hours.

Another top model is the HATOR Hypergang 3, the third generation of over-ear headphones designed for gamers. It features 53mm drivers with Hi-Res Audio support and 7.1 Surround Sound technology, delivering immersive and realistic audio. The memory foam ear cups provide comfort during long gaming sessions, while the detachable high-sensitivity microphone ensures clear communication. During the presentation, the option to connect the headset to a smartphone alongside a PC was discussed, allowing users to take calls without interrupting their gaming.

HATOR gaming chairs

The chairs are designed with the needs of users who spend long hours at their computers in mind. The ergonomic design offers lumbar support and adjustable armrests, ensuring comfort during extended use. The upholstery is made of eco-leather and high-quality foam that maintains its shape even after intensive use. The chairs are equipped with a reliable Class 4 gas lift and a steel frame. Some models also feature a reclining backrest up to 180°, allowing users to relax between gaming sessions.

Of course, this isn’t the full range of HATOR’s products. The company also offers microphones and accessories. However, the most attention at the booth was given to the products described above. Summarizing the meetings and conversations with HATOR representatives, it can be noted that their booth was one of the busiest at the event. The discussions about the brand’s products were rich and meaningful. Additionally, we had the opportunity to talk about the software for both PC and mobile operating systems directly with an HATOR engineer. They are working diligently on it and are open to feedback for improvement. In conclusion, HATOR’s participation in IEM Katowice demonstrates their ability to adapt to current market trends, shape audience demands, and maintain a balance between quality and price.

Which product from the event did you like the most? For me, it’s the Rockfall 3 TKL Wireless, as we’ve already tested it and can genuinely recommend it for both everyday use and intense gaming sessions, as our YouTuber Denis Zaychenko puts it. Feel free to share your preferences in the comments.
