The flagship ASUS ROG Phone 6 promises to be one of the first to offer the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The chip contains one Kryo Prime core with a clock speed of up to 3.2 GHz, three Kryo Performance cores with a frequency of up to 2.8 GHz and four Kryo Efficiency cores with a frequency of up to 2.0 GHz. The product includes a productive Adreno graphics accelerator and a Snapdragon X65 5G modem.
And although its announcement will take place in a week and a half, the design was successfully kept secret. Only the TENAA listing managed to reveal it. The pictures show the ROG Phone 6 in white, very similar to the Qualcomm phone made by ASUS. The back pannel also shows something resembling a narrow secondary display.
Display-wise, ROG Phone 6 will sport 6.78″ FullHD+ AMOLED panel, made by Samsung. What’s interesting about it is a refresh rate of 165 Hz – it’s a gaming phone after all. Under this gorgeous screen we will be an in-display fingerprint scanner.
ASUS ROG Phone 6 will also get a huge 6000 mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging. There’s also a triple rear camera expected with a 64 MP main module and a 12 MP selfie shooter. The phone will come with Android 12 out-of-the-box. Another huge number in the ROG Phone 6 specs is RAM: a version with 18 GB is rumored, along with the “modest” 8, 12 and 16 GB options. Storage-wise, expect a capacity of up to 512 GB.
The phone will weigh 229g, and will be pretty bulky with more than 10 mm of thickness. Full dimensions are 172.83 × 77.25 × 10.39 mm. Whether all these specs are true we can learn really soon, as insiders hint at July 5 launch date. And just like the last year there will be Pro and Ultimate modifications.
