Apple Music is now offering Spatial Audio for those who prefer to spend nights in a club rather than a concert hall. The service now offers DJ mixes in Dolby Atmos, which promise a more exciting experience of dance music. The initiative begins today with an updated set of One Mix by Detroit techno legend Jeff Mills, as well as 15 Boiler Room sets from stars such as Boys Noize and The Blessed Madonna.
You can expect more spatial audio mixes throughout the year, including monthly One Mix episodes and Boiler Room albums. Apple does not yet tell the names of future artists, although it mentions “the best DJs” in the world.
Spatial Sound automatically turns on only for AirPods and some Beats headphones. For other devices you need to manually turn on the feature.
Not surprisingly, Apple is expanding Atmos support for musicians. Spatial sound, of course, is an advantage of Apple Music and AirPods, and fans of famous artists who are using this feature are most likely to subscribe to Apple’s service.
