Huawei has unveiled its new flagship smartphones, the Pura 90 Pro and Pro Max, which feature advanced photography capabilities, cutting-edge displays, and high performance.

The design of the new products has undergone significant changes: the cases now have flat edges, which not only gives the devices a modern look, but also increases their overall durability. Particularly noteworthy is the color scheme, with an orange gradient as the main accent – a solution that the brand has returned to for the first time since the P30 series.

Depending on the angle of incidence of light, the shades of the panel change, creating a dynamic visual effect. In addition to orange, there are two more gradient variants and two classic monochromatic colors. The characteristic triangular camera block on the rear panel has been retained, and the housings themselves are reliably protected not only from water (IP68), but also from high temperatures (IP69) and high pressure.

Photographic capabilities remain a priority for Huawei. The Pura 90 Pro features a 50-megapixel main camera with a large 1/1.28-inch sensor, variable aperture f1.4-f4.0, optical stabilization, and RYYB color spectrum, complemented by a 12.5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom (8x hybrid quality zoom), and a special camera for the most accurate color reproduction.

The Pro Max version has even more extensive updates: the 50-megapixel main sensor has LOFIC technology and a 10-step physical aperture change. The main sensation was a telephoto lens with a resolution of 200 megapixels and a 1/1.28-inch matrix – this is the first time such a sensor has been used for zooming in in Huawei’s history. Image processing is provided by the proprietary XMAGE system.

The displays of both models are based on OLED panels with minimal bezels: 6.6 inches for the Pro version and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max. The screens support LTPO adaptive refresh rate, high-frequency PWM dimming for eye protection, and FHD+ resolution.

The surface is protected by a new generation of Kunlun glass, which for the first time in the series received a special anti-reflective coating. Autonomy is provided by 6000 mAh batteries. The top-of-the-line model comes with a 100W fast charger, supports 80W wireless charging, and can provide 18W of power to other gadgets via a cable. The Pura 90 Pro model comes with a 66W wired power supply.

Performance is driven by the Kirin 9030S chipset, which has brought impressive improvements in AI: the power of artificial intelligence for image analysis has increased by 200% and stabilization efficiency by 30%. In addition, the clarity when using a telephoto lens has increased by 110%. The software platform is HarmonyOS 6.1 with an integrated AI agent in the voice assistant. The price of Pura 90 Pro starts at $760 for the 12/256 GB version and reaches $1035 for the 1 TB model. The intermediate 12/512 GB version costs $830, and the 16/512 GB version costs $900. The Pura 90 Pro Max costs $900 for the basic configuration, $965 for 12/512 GB, $1035 for 16/512 GB, and $1185 for the top-of-the-line version with 1 TB drive.
