Tesla CEO Elon Musk has officially confirmed that mass production of the Cybercab autonomous taxi will begin in April this year. Although similar statements have been made before, this time the CEO emphasized the radical design of the vehicle: the cars are completely devoid of a traditional steering wheel and control pedals.

This step emphasizes the manufacturer’s confidence in autonomous technologies that make human intervention in the driving process unnecessary.
The technical concept of the car is based on the complete absence of a driver, and only an advanced camera system and AI algorithms called Tesla Vision are responsible for spatial orientation.

The company has deliberately refused to use radar or lidar, relying instead on visual data. The futuristic look of the Cybercab is complemented by butterfly-wing doors, and the design features of the body do not include rear glass and conventional side mirrors, making the car’s silhouette as streamlined as possible.

The interior of the drone is designed to comfortably accommodate two passengers. The main element of the interior is a massive 20.5-inch touchscreen monitor located in the center, which is designed for multimedia entertainment and video communication during the trip.

In addition to innovations in driving, Cybercab will support wireless induction charging. This technological solution will allow the vehicle to independently replenish energy reserves at specialized sites, providing a completely closed cycle of autonomous service without the participation of personnel.
