The Apple Vision Pro headset will be difficult to buy after the start of sales

-

The Apple Vision Pro headset is less than a month away, and you can get your hands on it on February 2nd. At least in theory, because it is assumed that the headset will be sold in such small quantities that it can be sold out almost immediately. So there is a possibility that it will not be so easy to get it shortly.

This was stated by the authoritative Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. According to its latest reports, Apple “will ship between 60,000 and 80,000 Vision Pro units before the February 2nd release. Because the lot is small, I believe the Vision Pro will sell out soon after release.” He previously predicted that Apple could sell around 400,000 Vision Pro units, but that was the final figure for all of 2024.

Kuo clearly explained why the Vision Pro will be in such high demand. “Although Apple has not clearly defined the product positioning and key application areas of Vision Pro, and the price is not cheap, the user experience (such as giving users the illusion that they can control the interface with the power of thought) is created by revolutionary technological innovation, together with a fan base and experienced users, should facilitate the sale after the release,” the analyst claims.

He previously noted that users are “certainly going to be impressed with the product at first glance” thanks to its high-end specs and software that is “well above the industry average.” However, the analyst cautioned that the device’s ability to maintain that momentum of interest “after the novelty wears off” will be vital. He added that this will be heavily influenced by whether its “product positioning and key applications are clear and correct,” and recent comments make it clear that Apple has yet to “clearly define” those elements.

It’s also been revealed that Apple will use a face-scanning feature in its App Store app to ensure that every user gets the correct Vision Pro size. It revealed the matching code, meaning customers won’t need to go to a physical Apple Store to try on the headset and determine which size fits best. This means that the entire ordering process can be done online (provided the company allows it). Of course, it all depends on whether the Vision Pro is still available.
