The biggest online event dedicated to Ukrainian games is making a return. The team at Palaye has announced that the Ukrainian Games Festival will once again be hosted on Steam, running this year from August 14 to 21.
According to Palaye’s press service, the 2025 edition will feature hundreds of Ukrainian projects – from major titles by GSC Game World, 4A Games, and Frogwares to new releases and indie games from across the country. The festival will combine a sale, a showcase of playable demos, premieres of upcoming games, and exclusive announcements.
More than 200 developers have already received invitations from the organizers. For those who haven’t been contacted directly, a registration form is now available. There’s also an FAQ for participants outlining the selection criteria for the festival. As in previous years, participation is free of charge.
This year, however, a notable rule change has been introduced. “We no longer accept teams into the Ukrainian Games Festival if they continue to sell their games in Russia. Our position is simple: engaging with the Russian market compromises both safety and integrity. After three years, this should be clear,” the organizers stated.
In 2025, the Ukrainian Games Festival will be held for the fourth time. Since its launch in 2022, the festival’s Steam pages have accumulated over 7.6 million views. For two consecutive years, the event also received official support from Valve, with a banner featured on Steam’s front page. This visibility helped participating projects reach a wide audience of players around the world.
Last year, the festival featured the debut of ten new Ukrainian games. Among them were Soul Shuffler, Comix Zero, BEYONDER, Whispers of the Void, Armageddonica, Boxville 2, Angelo & Deemon 2, Bloody Cleanup, PockeDate!, and Trickster Trove.
This year, the festival is expected to feature:
A sale with numerous discounts on top Ukrainian games, including both classics and new releases from this year.
A demo showcase. A dedicated section on the festival page will highlight demos from participants, many of which are released specifically for the event.
- Announcements from developers. During the festival, Ukrainian developers will share trailers, announcements, and exclusive content. Since last year, Palaye has also offered developers the opportunity to announce their new games through the festival.
- Additional activities. Throughout August, the organizers will hold a series of events outside of Steam focused on supporting Ukrainian developers and the military.
