According to Bloomberg reports, which cite anonymous sources and are often published to strengthen the positions of parties involved in negotiations, Anthropic is preparing to acquire the AI lab Decart. The estimated value of this deal is approximately $6 billion.

Unlike Anthropic, known as the developer of Claude Code with its modest tools for programming and the corporate sector, Decart positions itself quite differently. Anthropic has never created image or video generators like Sora; instead, it produces rigorous analytical reports and software extensions designed to replace legal assistants. Decart, however, favors a more entertaining and vibrant approach.
To understand Anthropic’s interest, it’s worth taking a look at the internal architecture of Decart’s developments. The startup positions itself as the creator of the tools Lucy, Oasis, and DOS (not the outdated operating system that older readers might be thinking of). Lucy is a video model that performs real-time frame adjustments, altering faces and details in a high-quality video stream. Oasis is an interactive virtual world engine that, as early as 2024, made it possible to create a Minecraft-style game world based on uploaded images.
Anthropic’s key focus is DOS – the technological engine that powers Lucy and Oasis. The acronym stands for Decart Optimization Stack. The creators describe it as a vertically integrated platform for real-time inference and training of AI models, combining hardware-optimized architecture, a set of core tools, proprietary compilers, and computational optimization tools.
Providing computing resources requires significant financial investment from Anthropic. Specifically, it pays xAI $1.25 billion monthly to train and run its own AI systems in large-scale data centers. According to Decart, the DOS platform enables maximum performance from each microchip during inference and training, ensuring the highest hardware utilization and reducing costs. If these claims are true, such technology is well worth $6 billion for a company poised to launch the largest initial public offering (IPO) in history.
At the same time, it is important to note that all information is based on data from informed sources, and Bloomberg journalists themselves point out that the agreement between the parties could still fall through.
