The next generation OnePlus 16 has been revealed in another leak. The upcoming flagship may receive significant improvements to the display, including a refresh rate of up to 240 Hz. OnePlus 16 is expected to be released later this year as the company’s flagship smartphone. New details about the device’s screen specs were revealed by an insider with the nickname Digital Chat Station.

According to the source, the OnePlus 16 may feature a 6.78-inch LTPO screen with a 1.5K resolution. The panel will allegedly be supplied by BOE, and the production will use the “Low-Injection Pressure Overmolding” technology, thanks to which the thickness of the bezels can be only 1 mm. It is also noted that the display will support the BT.2020 color space.
The minimum refresh rate of the screen, according to the insider, will be 185 Hz, while the maximum can reach 240 Hz. This is ahead of the recently revealed iQOO 16, which is credited with a 165Hz display. For comparison: The OnePlus 15 (currently available on Amazon for $899) features a 6.78-inch BOE X3 AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate.
As for other specifications: The OnePlus 16 is expected to be based on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chipset, allegedly manufactured using a 2-nanometer process. The camera module may also be updated: a new main sensor and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens are planned. In addition, the smartphone may receive a 9000 mAh battery, a significant increase from the 7300 mAh of the previous model.
