The holiday season in World of Tanks begins with the large-scale “Holiday Ops 2026” event, running from December 5, 2025, to January 12, 2026. This year’s celebration is designed to feel even more elaborate, with actor Benedict Cumberbatch featured as the face of the event. His involvement brings a mix of dry humor, intelligence, and a reserved tone that sets the mood for the seasonal activities.
When the event begins, players enter an enchanted Holiday Village. During the day, it features snow-covered scenery and a warm, fairy-tale atmosphere; at night, the sky is lit by garlands, lanterns, and fireworks. From the moment they arrive, players receive a welcome gift – the Strv M/31, a Swedish Tier III light tank with a full crew and a garage slot. An Advent calendar is also available, offering daily bonuses and small surprises as each window is opened.
At the Command Center, players are greeted by Benedict Cumberbatch himself, appearing in the role of the Holiday Ambassador. He provides missions, shares short stories, and guides players through the event. Completing his tasks grants access to unique in-game items, including two signature 2D styles, themed decals, and special inscriptions.
A central feature of the event is the “Holiday Ops Missions,” which consist of 56 combat tasks. Successfully completing each mission rewards players with valuable items, including Benedict Cumberbatch as a tank commander. His character is portrayed as a composed strategist who advises rather than commands. Additional rewards include decorative elements reflecting the commander’s personality, the “Unshakable” combat 2D style, and a set of unique 3D items called the “Benedict Gadgets.”
From December 11 to 22, the celebrations reach a new level with the return of the popular “Winter Raid” mode. This time, the action takes place on two new maps: one set in a cosmic star-themed environment, and the other on a vibrant battlefield within a magical gift factory. In this mode, three teams of five players each compete to collect gifts and deliver them to their base. Each participant controls a unique tank with specific roles and special abilities. Success in battles is rewarded with points that can be exchanged for bonds or exclusive 3D rewards.
