Apple to Android swaps are about to get easier in the coming months

-

Over the years, Apple to Android swaps has been very difficult for most people. Moving from one operating system (iOS) to the other (Android) has not been a rosy path for most users seeking to switch platforms. However, the EU might make things a bit easier for users in their regions to move over from Apple to other smartphones running on Android.

This move is one that Apple is not going to make willingly, but it’s one that it must make. In the EU region, Apple now allows its users to access third-party app stores for certain apps not available on the App Store. Following this move, Apple is also preparing to make Apple to Android swaps easier for its users within the region.

According to the official report, this change will arrive on Apple devices in the EU towards the end of 2024 or by 2025. Currently, the tech giant is working on features that’ll make this swap process easier than it currently is. In addition to this coming change to Apple devices in the EU, users will also get the option of uninstalling the Safari browser.

So if you live in the EU region, and you don’t want Safari on your iPhone, you can get rid of it. Certainly, these coming changes aren’t ones that Apple will make on its own. These new steps comply with the EU’s Digital Market Act (DMA) which Apple is already meeting.

While the EU pushes Apple to make these changes within its region, Apple isn’t bringing them to users globally. So if you live outside the EU’s region, don’t expect to get any of these changes that are here or the ones coming. Also, these changes become ineffective for EU users who travel out of the region.
