HMD Global might be dropping the Nokia branding for coming smartphones

-

For some years, HMD Global has been taking care of Nokia smartphone production and launches. Now the firm is looking to launch its fleet of smartphones that are void of the Nokia branding. The past few months have brought a ton of announcements, leaks, and speculations on the coming smartphones that HMD is currently working on.

Some sources familiar with this matter point out that the coming smartphone will launch in April, which is just a few months away. Just like already existing Nokia smartphones, we can expect these devices to launch with budget-level specifications and features. A leak has already given off the design of this coming device, and it’s a bit similar to what’s available on some more expensive Nokia devices.

From this leak, it’s also clear that the Nokia branding is no more and is being replaced with the HMD branding. As per the leak, this coming device will feature a dual rear camera setup that’ll sit on a cutout towards the left-hand side of the device’s rear panel. From its looks, this device might feature a plastic design-build, making it a budget-entry device.

HMD Global is aiming to compete in the budget smartphone market with this coming device. Some reports also point out that other HMD Global branded devices are also in the pipeline aside from this in consideration in this article. As for their specifications, there’s nothing available at this time, but it’s safe to expect basic specifications with these devices.

By saying basic specifications, we mean that nothing about these devices might blow your mind away. They aim to serve buyers who are looking for an affordable, durable, and easy-to-use device to purchase. In the coming months, this device as well as other HMD-branded devices will make their global debut.
