The Ukrainian Film Academy, in partnership with Netflix, has announced the results of a grant program that will provide financial support to twenty Ukrainian film projects. Each project will receive $15,000 to complete the post-production stage. This support will serve as a valuable resource both for emerging filmmakers taking their first steps in the industry and for already established directors. Among the grant recipients are documentary and narrative films by Valentyn Vasyanovych, Oksana Sihareva, Dmytro Avdiyev, and other creators.

Five independent experts from various European countries were invited to evaluate and select the projects. The jury included Katarína Krnáčová, producer and president of the Slovak Film and Television Academy; Jani Pöso, Finnish screenwriter and producer; Izabela Kiszka-Hoflik, Polish producer; Ioanina Pavel, creative producer from Romania; and Helen Lõhmus, Estonian producer and director. None of them had any connection to the submitted applications, ensuring a transparent and fair selection process.

The project was made possible through international collaboration. In addition to Netflix and the Ukrainian Film Academy, it received support from the EU program House of Europe and the New York Film Academy. Such broad cooperation demonstrates the integration of Ukrainian cinema into the global cultural space. The total grant funding amounted to $300,000. This support is not just financial aid for film production – it represents an investment in the development of Ukrainian culture and helps shape a positive image of the country internationally.
