Quantum-Systems, a Diia.City resident, has raised €160 million in Series C funding, bringing its total investment to €310 million. The announcement was made by Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister for Innovation and Minister of Digital Transformation, via his Telegram channel.
With this latest funding round, Quantum-Systems has reached a valuation exceeding \$1 billion, earning it the status of a “unicorn” – a term used for startups that surpass the billion-dollar mark in market value.
According to Diia.City representatives, Ukraine has played a key role in Quantum-Systems’ development. The company’s Vector vertical take-off reconnaissance drones have been in use in Ukraine since May 2022. In 2023, Quantum-Systems officially joined Diia.City and established a local hub for service, support, training, and logistics.
Later that year, the hub expanded to include a dedicated R\&D center. One year after that, the company launched production operations in Ukraine.
It is reported that the funds raised will be allocated to several areas:
- Research and development of unmanned AI systems
- Production expansion
- Increasing presence in Europe, America, and Asia-Pacific.
Quantum-Systems is a German company headquartered in the municipality of Gilching. Founded in 2015, it focuses on the design, development, and manufacturing of small unmanned aerial systems (UAS). In addition to the Vector drone – currently in active use by Ukraine’s defense forces – the company’s portfolio includes other electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) models such as the Tron, Twister, the Trinity series, and the short-range Scorpion tricopter.
Diia.City offers foreign companies a framework that supports local manufacturing, stable operations, and the development of transparent and efficient corporate structures. The program also provides favorable tax conditions, making it easier for businesses to scale.
As a related update, the Ukrainian defense tech cluster Brave1 recently launched the Brave1 Market – an online platform designed to accelerate the deployment of new technologies to the battlefield. According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the marketplace will improve the efficiency of decentralized procurement by military units, allowing them to purchase both standardized and non-standardized equipment.
