Xiaomi is preparing to launch a new compact flagship tablet, which may be called Redmi K Pad 2 or Xiaomi Pad Mini 2 in global markets. According to a Digital Chat Station insider, the device will receive major upgrades in display, battery life, audio, and performance.
According to the leak, the tablet will feature an 8.8-inch LCD display with a 3K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. This makes it one of the fastest compact tablets in its class and makes the model not only multimedia but also mobile gaming oriented.

Another key change will be the battery. The battery is expected to have a capacity of 9000 mAh, which is a significant step forward compared to its predecessor. For a compact form factor, this means a significant improvement in battery life without sacrificing performance.
In the audio segment, Xiaomi is betting on a premium experience. The Redmi K Pad 2 will reportedly feature symmetrical stereo speakers with customization from Bose. The company has previously used a similar collaboration in the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max smartphones, which hints at expanding the partnership to tablets. For tactile feedback, the tablet can receive dual linear vibration motors along the X-axis, which will improve the quality of interaction in games and when working with the interface.

The main upgrade will be the processor. According to the source, the new product will be based on MediaTek Dimensity 9500. This is the same flagship chip that is expected in Xiaomi’s top-end smartphones focused on maximum performance. The tablet could be launched alongside the new flagship smartphone in the first half of the year, indicating a synchronized product strategy for the company.
For comparison, the previous Redmi K Pad model was introduced in June last year and subsequently launched in global markets under the name Xiaomi Pad Mini. It received an 8.8-inch display.

If the leaks are confirmed, the Redmi K Pad 2 will be a logical evolutionary step in the segment of compact productive tablets and can seriously strengthen Xiaomi’s position in the niche of portable multimedia and gaming devices.
