Google has introduced a new mid-range smartphone aimed at those who want maximum AI capabilities but without a sky-high price tag. The Pixel 10a retains the A-series philosophy, i.e. it offers a lot of features for a reasonable price, but this time the model has received a number of updates that have significantly reduced the distance between it and the tech giant’s more expensive smartphones.

The device is powered by Google’s Tensor G4 and features the Titan M2 security processor used in older models. Together with 8 GB of RAM, this ensures stable system performance and full support for Google’s AI functions. The smartphone is equipped with a 6.3-inch Actua display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of up to 3000 nits. The predecessor, by the way, has a peak brightness of 2700 nits.

The main camera has a 48-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture, complemented by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module with a 120° viewing angle. The front camera is 13 megapixels and has a 96.1° angle. The smartphone is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance, and the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, which makes it more resistant and durable than the previous generation.

The 5100 mAh battery promises up to 30 hours of battery life in normal mode and up to 120 hours in Extreme Battery Saver mode. Wired charging with a power of up to 30W is supported, while previously it was 23W. In addition, the smartphone supports wireless charging with a power of up to 10W.

Pixel 10a comes with Android 16 out of the box. Google guarantees seven years of OS updates and security patches, as well as regular Pixel Drop updates. This means support until 2033, which is a strong argument in this price segment. In addition, the smartphone has a full set of Gemini features. In particular, Gemini Live features, photo editing tools, and Camera Coach are available, which tells you how to build a better shot in real time. Also, for the first time, A-series smartphones have Satellite SOS support, which means that you can contact emergency services even without mobile coverage or Wi-Fi.

One of the most noticeable visual changes is the new design of the camera module, which no longer protrudes above the body and is fully integrated into the back panel. Thanks to this, the smartphone lies flat on a table and fits more easily in a pocket. There are versions with 128 or 256 GB of storage, and the colors include Lavender, Berry, Fog, and Obsidian.

Google also emphasizes the environmental friendliness of the model: the company used 100% recycled aluminum for the frame and a battery with recycled cobalt, which was also done for the first time for the A-series. The starting price remains at $499. Pre-orders are already open, and the official release is scheduled for March 5.
