Huawei has officially confirmed the release of its first AI glasses with a built-in camera. Senior executive He Gang posted an image with the inscription HUAWEI AI GLASSES, accompanying it with a phrase suggesting to find key features on your own. The presentation of the new product is scheduled for April 21 along with the Pura 90 series of smartphones.

This model will be the first Huawei glasses equipped with an integrated camera, which is an important change for the entire product line. The company confirmed that the device will be released on April 21, 2026, along with the Pura 90 and Pura X2 series. The camera allows for first-person photos and videos, which has never been seen before in any of Huawei’s eyewear products.

Among the key features are simultaneous real-time translation and integration with the Xiaoyi AI assistant. The frame is made of an aerospace-grade titanium-aluminum alloy, and the weight of the device is targeted at around 30 g for comfortable long-term wear. The HarmonyOS platform enables interaction with other devices, including smartphones, tablets, and PCs, and comes in three color options.

The previous model of Smart Glasses 2 actually served as an audio device with open speakers, microphones, and notification functions, which made it useful but limited in capabilities. The integration of a camera significantly changes the approach to this class of devices. Recording from a first-person perspective allows you to record events without using a smartphone and without awkward angles. This approach looks practical for traveling, video blogging, and hands-free work, not just as a technology demonstration.

Huawei has significant experience in image processing thanks to HiSilicon and its own ISP technologies, which is an important factor in this segment. Most cameras in smart glasses show mediocre results, but in this case, the company has the potential to show better quality. At the same time, it should be clarified that the information about the alleged 1200-megapixel camera that was spread on Chinese social media has not been confirmed by any reliable sources. Official resolution specifications have not yet been disclosed, so you should not rely on these figures.

The real-time translation feature seems to be the most practical for everyday use. The ability to receive simultaneous translation without having to take out a smartphone or use headphones simplifies communication during meetings, traveling, and in situations with a language barrier. The Xiaoyi AI assistant is responsible for a wider range of tasks, including navigation, teleprompter, and contextual guidance. The device is equipped with three lithium batteries that should ensure the operation of the device even under high load from AI functions. The battery life has not yet been officially confirmed, although previous leaks indicated about 11 hours of continuous use.

The smart glasses market is becoming increasingly competitive. The Meta Ray-Ban devices have already demonstrated that the concept of camera glasses can be commercially successful. In 2026, other players, such as Google and Rokid, are also active, which intensifies competition. Huawei’s advantage in this context is its deep ecosystem integration. HarmonyOS allows direct connection of glasses to Pura smartphones, tablets, and PCs for fast audio and data exchange, which is not available to users of the Huawei ecosystem in the case of Meta solutions. The device will be available in three colors: Luminous Silver, Titanium Silver Gray, and Modern Black. No price information is available yet.
