Motorola unveils the Razr Fold foldable smartphone at #MWC2026

Following a preview of the Razr Fold at CES, Motorola has officially unveiled its new foldable smartphone at MWC 2026. This is the brand’s first model in this form factor, based on the experience of the Razr series. The novelty is positioned as a device that should expand the capabilities of users in terms of productivity and creativity.

Motorola Razr Fold is equipped with an external 6.6-inch pOLED display with a refresh rate of 165 Hz and a resolution of 2520×1080. The peak brightness of the panel reaches 6000 nits, and protection is provided by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3. By the way, Razr Fold was the first smartphone to receive this Corning technology. Inside is an 8.1-inch LTPO screen with a frequency of 120 Hz and ultra-thin glass. The main display has a resolution of 2484×2232 and a peak brightness of 6200 nits.

Motorola Razr Fold

Both displays support 10-bit color depth, meet Pantone Validated Color requirements, have 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, as well as HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Despite the large screens and high technical indicators, the device is only 4.6 mm thick when unfolded, excluding the camera unit, and 9.9 mm when folded. The smartphone weighs 244 g.

Performance is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and is complemented by 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of flash storage. A 1TB version will also be available in some markets.

The camera module includes:

  • Sony Lytia 828 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.6 aperture, OIS, and Dolby Vision video recording support
  • 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module with f/2.0 aperture, 122° viewing angle and autofocus for macro shooting from a distance of up to 3.5 cm
  • 50-megapixel Sony Lytia 600 periscopic telephoto module with OIS, which provides 3x optical zoom and supports macro shooting.

The outer screen has a 32-megapixel front camera with f/2.4 aperture, and the inside has a 20-megapixel camera with f/2.4 aperture. The main sensor supports 8K video recording at 30 frames per second and 4K at 120 frames per second in slow motion.

Under the hood of the Motorola Razr Fold is a 6000 mAh battery with silicon-carbon technology that supports 80W TurboPower fast wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and even 5W reverse wired charging. The device is IP48 and IP49 rated for dust and water resistance, meaning it can withstand immersion in fresh water, but dust should be avoided. The stereo speakers are customized with Sound by Bose and support Dolby Atmos. Additionally, Razr Fold is compatible with the Moto Pen Ultra stylus.

Motorola Razr Fold

The model runs Android 16 out of the box. Motorola promises up to seven updates to the Android operating system and seven years of security updates. This is the second device in the company’s portfolio after the Motorola Signature to receive such software support.

Motorola Razr Fold will be available in Pantone Blackened Blue and Pantone Lily White colors. Details on the price and launch date will be announced later.
