Xiaomi is preparing a large-scale replenishment of its audio lineup, which will take place simultaneously with the presentation of the flagship 17 Max in May 2026. The manufacturer has officially confirmed the release of two new products: an innovative open-type model with a clip-on mount under the Xiaomi brand and the first full-size headphones in the history of the sub-brand, Redmi Headphones Neo. This release will make the company’s already busy May schedule even tighter. Xiaomi’s new clip-on headphone model marks a new stage in the company’s form factor development. Despite the fact that in September 2025, OpenWear Stereo Pro was released, and a year earlier, headphones with an open design were released, the upcoming novelty will have a unique design.
The main emphasis in the design is on the behind-the-ear mount, which fundamentally distinguishes them from the OpenWear line. This approach is aimed at ensuring maximum comfort during prolonged use and maintaining communication with the environment, which is critical for city dwellers, office workers, and joggers. Xiaomi strives to create a complete ecosystem where there is a suitable device for every listening scenario. Detailed specifications of this device will be revealed during the presentation along with 17 Max.

At the same time, extensive information about Redmi Headphones Neo was revealed. The brand’s first over-the-ear headphones are aimed at the budget segment but offer amazing features. According to Philippine marketplaces, the device is equipped with 40 mm dynamic drivers with titanium coating that operate in the range from 20 Hz to 40 kHz.

The 42 dB adaptive noise reduction system has three levels of intensity control. The battery life of the model is impressive: the 600 mAh battery provides up to 72 hours of operation with noise canceling turned off, and thanks to fast charging in just 10 minutes, the user gets an additional 5 hours of playback.
Redmi Headphones Neo support the modern Bluetooth 5.4 standard, Google Fast Pair and the ability to connect to two devices simultaneously. Hi-Res certification via USB Audio expands the possibilities of wired listening. Interaction with the proprietary Xiaomi Earbuds application allows you to flexibly adjust the equalizer, monitor battery status, and search for a lost gadget.

At the start of sales, the headphones will be available in Obsidian Black and Sand White colors, and in September, the palette will be complemented by Mist Blue. The estimated cost of the novelty is about $57 USD, which makes them a serious competitor for more expensive solutions from Sony or Bose, especially given the solid noise reduction and endurance.
