Manufacturer of rugged smartphones Cubot has introduced a new model – the Cubot KingKong AX, which demonstrates that a rugged smartphone does not necessarily have to be bulky (by the way, we already have its review with photos on our website, so you can see it for yourself). It is considered that the main target audience for such devices are outdoor enthusiasts or people who work in extreme conditions. However, demand for rugged smartphones is growing among average consumers as well, so the manufacturer has created a solution that combines reliability and autonomy with convenience and productivity. What’s more, in honor of its global premiere, it offers a pleasant discount on AliExpress.
“At Cubot, we understand that functionality should not compromise aesthetics. That’s why we have made significant efforts to create the KingKong AX as a fashionable rugged phone that complements any lifestyle,” the company says.
The smartphone is equipped with an FHD+ Water Droplet display with a diagonal of 6.583 inches and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Another screen is located on the back panel, inside the camera module. The additional display shows the time, battery status, number of steps taken, notifications, media player controls, and more.
The device runs on the MediaTek Helio G99 processor and comes with Android 14 installed. Cubot KingKong AX is equipped with 12 GB of RAM, expandable by another 12 GB, and 256 GB of flash memory. This is sufficient for running various applications and storing content, but just in case, the manufacturer has added support for memory cards up to 1 TB.
The device is powered by a 5100 mAh battery, supporting fast charging at 33 W. It can be charged to 100% in less than 2 hours. On the back panel, there is a triple camera module, which includes a 100-megapixel sensor Samsung S5KHM2, a macro lens OmniVision OV5670 with a resolution of 5 MP, and a 0.3 MP depth sensor.
