Motorola has officially presented the 2026 version of its Edge smartphone. This mobile device harmoniously combines premium hardware features with enhanced durability, making it a serious contender in the mid-budget segment, which is currently fiercely competitive.

The technical parameters of the new product are impressive, as the device is equipped with a 6.3-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ compatibility, and a maximum brightness level of 5200 nits. The safety of the front surface is guaranteed by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

Inside the case, the MediaTek Dimensity 7450 computing platform is integrated, which is a 4-nanometer 8-core processor that works in conjunction with the Mali-G615 MC2 graphics accelerator. The memory configuration includes 8 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and the capacity of the permanent storage is 128 GB.

The smartphone comes preinstalled with the Android 16 operating system from the factory. At the same time, Motorola undertakes to provide three guaranteed full-fledged OS upgrades, guaranteeing software support for the device for the next few years. The software is designed with the latest trends in artificial intelligence in mind, so owners can independently assign a main virtual assistant, choosing from Moto AI, Google Gemini, or Perplexity. In addition, the device supports Google’s Circle to Search option, as well as Motorola’s proprietary Smart Connect ecosystem, which facilitates fast file sharing and interaction with peripherals such as tablets or personal computers.

In terms of optical capabilities, the main lens is a 50-megapixel module with a Sony LYTIA 710 sensor, which is equipped with optical image stabilization and is capable of recording 4K video. Next to it is an ultra-wide-angle camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels, which is additionally responsible for macro photography, as well as a 10-megapixel telephoto lens that provides 3x optical zoom and has OIS. A 50-megapixel sensor is provided on the front side for creating self-portraits. The work of the entire camera unit is enhanced by special AI-based software, which includes the Photo Enhancement Engine background enhancement algorithm and the Action Shot mode, which stabilizes objects in the frame during their active movement.

The phone is powered by a 5000 mAh battery. The device supports 60W wired fast power technology and 15W wireless charging. According to the developer’s representatives, the use of a 60-watt wired adapter allows to accumulate enough energy to operate the mobile phone for a whole day in about seven minutes of being near a power outlet.

In order to increase survivability, the case has been certified according to two protection classes – IP68 and IP69. This indicates complete isolation from dust, resistance to normal immersion in water, and the ability to withstand directed jets of hot water under high pressure. In addition, the model has been tested according to the MIL-STD-810H standard, which confirms its resistance to drops and mechanical shock. Other features of the device include a fingerprint scanner integrated under the screen surface, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos surround sound, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless modules.

The official sales of the smartphone will start on June 11 and will be available for $599.99. The mobile phone is offered in Pantone Martini Olive color variant, which stands out for its original natural golden-green hue with textured fabric-like finish on the back cover.
