Ukrainian forces tested a new type of weapon on the front line, developed by a member of the Brave1 Defence Tech support cluster – another step toward gaining a technological edge. The news was shared on the cluster’s official Twitter page.
Brave1, together with the manufacturer and a military unit, tested an experimental technology in the Kherson sector. The strike destroyed a Russian stronghold using a munition weighing over 100 kilograms.
“A new type of weapon developed by a Brave1 participant has been tested on the front line,” Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, wrote on his Telegram channel. “We won’t share the details, but this is just the beginning. More solutions are on the way – ones the enemy will feel firsthand.”

Brave1 also reported that this year, for the first time, Ukraine participated in DSEI Japan – an important defense technology exhibition held in Japan every two years. With support from Rakuten Group, the Defence Tech cluster and six Ukrainian defense tech manufacturers showcased Ukraine’s developments in areas such as AI, drone swarms, geospatial intelligence, and combat medical training simulators.

Visitors and participants were interested not only in the technologies themselves, but also in Ukraine’s approach to accelerating the innovation cycle. One example is the use of decentralized procurement through the newly launched Brave1 Market – a defense tech marketplace designed to function like an “Amazon for the military.” The platform allows units to directly purchase technologies they need on the front lines. According to Mykhailo Fedorov, this initiative helps address a common problem: military personnel are often unaware of effective solutions already available on the market that could support their missions more efficiently.
