On June 5, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in coordination with the Security Service of Ukraine and other elements of the Defense Forces, carried out a successful missile strike on a Russian missile troops deployment area in the Bryansk region. Russian forces had been preparing to use an Iskander short-range ballistic missile system to launch strikes on a Ukrainian city. However, the timely actions of Ukrainian defenders disrupted those plans.

This was reported on the official Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the post, a unit of Russia’s 26th Missile Brigade, operating near the town of Klintsy in the Bryansk region, attempted to launch strikes on a Ukrainian settlement. Kyiv was likely the intended target.
Units of the Armed Forces and the Security Service of Ukraine worked in coordination and conducted additional reconnaissance, which allowed them to strike the intended targets effectively. According to the General Staff, one Russian missile launcher detonated, while two others were likely damaged.
The assessment of the damage is still being updated.
In the morning briefing from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it was also reported that “in the past 24 hours, Russian forces suffered 930 casualties. Ukrainian troops also destroyed three tanks, two armored combat vehicles, 39 artillery systems, four multiple rocket launchers, one air defense system, 95 tactical-level UAVs, and 82 vehicles belonging to the occupying forces.”
Recently, we shared a rare video showing a Ukrainian Su-27 fighter jet delivering a devastating strike on a Russian air defense system, likely a Buk or Tor. What makes the footage unusual is that the attack used an American-made AGM-88 HARM anti-radiation missile. The strike triggered the detonation of the onboard munitions of the Russian air defense system. Additionally, drone operators recorded a secondary explosion. The strike likely caused an uncontrolled launch of a solid-fuel surface-to-air missile.
