Samsung has started selling its new smartphone from the line of “battery monsters”. The first to go on sale is Galaxy F62, which is available now in India.
India was the first region where the Galaxy F62 appeared on sale. The smartphone is available for $331 for the version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, as well as for $359 for the version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The phone is available in green, gray and blue. The main feature of the Galaxy F62 is a 7000 mAh battery. In addition, it supports fast charging (25 watts).
The smartphone is equipped with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ screen with Full HD+ resolution (2400×1080 pixels), 32 MP front-facing camera, quad main camera (64, 12, 5 and 5 MP) and a fingerprint scanner.
The SoC platform is the Exynos 9825 used in the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+. You can use two SIM cards at the same time with a microSD card. You also get 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5, GPS and GLONASS, NFC, FM radio, USB Type-C port, and 3.5 mm audio jack. Dimensions are 163.9 × 76.3 × 9.5 mm, weight is 218 g. The smartphone runs on Android 11 with a One UI 3.1 shell.
IDC: The smartphone market has returned to growth
Experts of the analytical company IDC summed up the results of the 4th quarter of 2020 and the whole year in the smartphone market. According to the report, the smartphone market has returned to growth. Sales in the fourth quarter of 2020 amounted to 385.9 million units, which is 4.3% more than smartphones sold in the 4th quarter of 2019. At the same time, for the whole of 2020, smartphones sold 5.9% less than in 2019.
In the fourth quarter of 2020, Apple was the market leader. It managed to increase sales in annual terms, compared to the same quarter last year by 22.2%, from 73.8 to 90.1 million devices. In second place is Samsung, which in annual terms increased sales by 6.2%. Third place belongs to Xiaomi. Oppo and Huawei are also in the top five. As for 2020 as a whole, Samsung remained the leader with 20.6% of the market.
