At IFA 2025 in Berlin, TCL unveiled its new smartphone, the NXTPAPER 60 Ultra, featuring the NXTPAPER 4.0 display technology designed to protect users’ eyes. The company positions this device as proof of its commitment to developing safe and comfortable screens for everyday use.

The smartphone features a 7.2-inch FHD+ display powered by the new NXTPAPER 4.0 technology. The screen delivers highly natural visuals, free from flicker, glare, and harmful blue light, while its anti-reflective coating ensures comfortable viewing even in bright sunlight. According to TCL, watching content on this display feels close to experiencing the real world without digital screens. At night, the technology automatically shifts to warmer tones, reducing eye strain and supporting better sleep by avoiding disruption to the body’s natural circadian rhythm.

The NXTPAPER 60 Ultra smartphone features a triple camera setup, including a 50 MP main sensor, a 50 MP telephoto lens with 3× zoom, and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. The front-facing camera has a 32 MP resolution.

It is powered by the energy-efficient MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chip, capable of handling modern games and AI-driven tasks. TCL has emphasized artificial intelligence throughout the device – for example, the TCL Note app offers a “paper-like” writing experience using AI productivity tools, while the Max Ink mode provides a distraction-free reading environment for users who want to focus without notifications.

The device comes with 12 GB of RAM, expandable by an additional 12 GB, and up to 512 GB of internal storage. Its 5200 mAh battery supports 33 W fast charging, allowing a full recharge in approximately 90 minutes.

The TCL NXTPAPER 60 Ultra starts at €499 (around $581). Sales will begin in September 2025 across Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region. Additional accessories, including the T-Pen Magic stylus and MagFlip case, will also be available.

NXTPAPER 5G Junior

In addition, TCL announced the NXTPAPER 5G Junior, a smartphone designed specifically for teenagers. Its main feature is a dedicated button that activates Max Ink Mode, switching the matte display to a monochrome mode similar to E Ink, which is much easier on the eyes for reading. The device also includes parental control features powered by Google Family Link, as well as a “Digital Detox” mode to encourage healthy device use. It comes with a 6.7-inch screen, 256 GB of storage, a dual rear camera setup, and a case included in the package. The smartphone will be priced at €249 and will launch in European markets in October.

Another new product is the TCL MOVETIME MT48 kids’ smartwatch, featuring a 1.68-inch display. The device comes equipped with a set of AI-powered features for learning and exploring the world. It will be priced at €150, with sales starting in late October in Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, and France.
