The INGUAR company from Ukraine showed its new Inguar-3 armoured car, which belongs to the MRAP class. This means that it is protected from mines and firearms. According to “Military”, the car has passed all tests at the factory and is preparing for state tests.
This vehicle is an advanced representative of modular tactical armoured vehicles with a separate front and rear armour capsule, which allows you to quickly change its configuration – from an amphibious vehicle to a pickup truck or a carrier of heavy weapons.
Inguar-3 has a combined armour made of aluminium and steel. Aluminium parts can be easily replaced if damaged. Aluminium also helps to reduce the weight of the machine and absorb some of the energy of the bullets. The steel armour plate provides basic protection and stops the impacting elements definitively.
According to the manufacturer, the machine corresponds to the level of protection 3a/3b according to the NATO standard STANAG 4569. This means that it can withstand shots from armour-piercing bullets of calibre 7.62×51 and fragments from 155 mm shells at a distance of 60 meters.
The machine is also protected against the detonation of an anti-tank mine with 8 kg of explosives (as in the Soviet TM-62). The manufacturer draws attention to the fact that the engine compartment has additional protection against debris.
The driver has cameras for viewing the front, back and sides, which replace the mirrors. The car also has a night vision camera.
The machine has many other features such as:
- electronic device module for setting frequencies
- automatic fire extinguishing system with optical sensors
- air purification system from chemical pollution
- autonomous cabin heater
- air conditioning system
- a winch with a pulling power of 12 tons
Inguar-3 has a frame structure and independent suspension with planetary gearboxes. This allows her to easily drive off-road. The machine has locking axles and differentials, as well as a high ground clearance of 450 mm. The machine is driven by a Deutz engine with a capacity of 356 hp. (1,500 Nm) that works with an Allison automatic transmission.
The machine also has a centralized automatic tyre inflation system and run-flat inserts that allow it to move even if the tyres are flat.
