Starlink has announced a new stage of scaling: the network already provides high-speed satellite Internet to more than 10 million active users in 160 countries, territories and markets around the world. The company announced this in its account on the X platform, thanking customers for their trust.

The new milestone was reached just a few weeks after the service reported 9 million subscribers in late December. This means that in less than 2 months, the base has grown by about 1 million users. On average, after passing the 9 million mark, the network connected more than 19 thousand new customers every day.

The growth rate remains exceptionally high. In 2025, Starlink doubled the number of subscribers to 9.2 million and expanded its presence to 35 new markets. The service currently generates about 97% of the world’s satellite Internet traffic, effectively dominating the segment it has transformed.

New geographies are emerging as key drivers of expansion. In particular, Brazil exceeded the 1 million subscribers mark, becoming the second largest Starlink market in the world. An additional acceleration factor may be the elimination of waiting lists in all regions of operation, which opens up the possibility of connecting new users faster.

At the same time, the company is preparing a significant infrastructure upgrade. The first V3 generation satellites are planned to be launched into orbit this year. They are expected to multiply the network capacity and provide gigabit speeds for terrestrial subscribers for the first time. SpaceX has already demonstrated larger V3 satellites designed to support global load growth.

Coverage in more than 160 countries, along with future capacity expansions, creates a sustainable scaling dynamic. What started as an ambitious experiment in low Earth orbit broadband is quickly becoming the de facto standard for satellite internet in the world.
