AYANEO to Unveil a Game Boy Advance Reincarnation on Android

AYANEO has officially announced the KONKR Pocket Advanced. The company’s new horizontal Android console draws heavily on the design of the iconic Nintendo Game Boy Advance.

In early July, AYANEO began teasing its audience with previews of the new Android console, promising to reimagine the legendary device from the golden age of handheld gadgets. The manufacturer later revealed the name of the new product: KONKR Pocket Advance. Yesterday, AYANEO released a teaser featuring a blurry, dark silhouette of the device, and today its design was fully unveiled – and it looks painfully familiar.

As expected, AYANEO revealed the first official image of the Pocket Advance today. Unsurprisingly, given the name, the device bears a striking resemblance to the Nintendo Game Boy Advance. At the same time, there are several significant differences between them, notably the addition of two extra buttons on the front panel. Also visible on the bottom edge are a USB-C port and openings that look like ventilation grilles for cooling. Judging by the released photo, the new device’s display is larger, and the bezels around it are slightly narrower.

Overall, the public’s reaction to the unveiled design has been positive. In the comments, users are expressing hope that AYANEO will make the console affordable. In addition, many fans are urging AYANEO to mass-produce the new model, alluding to the extremely limited production run of the recently released Pocket Micro 2 consoles.
