Director Dave Green and actor Eric Bouza shared details about the making of the hybrid film *Coyote vs. Acme*, which is set to be released on August 28, 2026.

After three years of uncertainty, delays, and the threat of complete cancellation by Warner Bros., the film “Coyote vs. Acme” is finally hitting the big screen thanks to Ketchup Entertainment, which acquired the distribution rights.
The plot revolves around Coyote’s lawsuit against the Acme Corporation. In this legal battle at the end of the month, the main animated character teams up with the characters Will Forte and Lana Condor to face off against John Cena’s character in court.
According to director Dave Green, following a change in distributor, the project has retained 100% of its original vision without any additional changes. Unlike most previous ensemble films in the “Looney Tunes” series, this film is a deep exploration of Wile E. Coyote’s personality, his aspirations, and the obstacles he faces.
The director compared the Coyote’s role in the franchise to that of “Iron Man” in “The Avengers.” The main character communicates exclusively through sign language and signs, and his daily, unwavering determination to catch the Road Runner portrays him as an incredible optimist and reveals a new side of his character.
Actor Eric Bauza confirmed the appearance of numerous cameos by other “Looney Tunes” characters. All of them are included solely to advance the plot, not for fan service. The “Muppets” franchise served as the main reference point for working with this group of characters.
While developing the screenplay, Dave Green and screenwriter Sami Birch drew inspiration not only from the cult classic *Who Framed Roger Rabbit*, but also from classic legal dramas and thrillers, including *Erin Brockovich*, “A Few Good Men,” “The Verdict,” and “The Insider.”
Audiences will be able to see how Coyote’s adventures play out in court in theaters starting August 28, 2026.
