Samsung is preparing a major display upgrade for its next flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra, according to insiders. The smartphone is expected to be equipped with a new generation of Gorilla Glass, which will receive improvements in several key areas. According to information from IceUniverse, the new protective glass will be harder and more resistant to scratches and mechanical damage. In addition, it may receive support for Color Filter of Encapsulation (COE) technology, which improves the energy efficiency of the display and reduces glare. It is also reported that Samsung’s proprietary Privacy Display feature can be implemented on the basis of this new type of glass.
The combination of increased durability, anti-reflective coating, and hardware support for privacy mode will potentially reduce users’ dependence on additional accessories such as protective films, tempered glass, and privacy filters.
Samsung first introduced an anti-reflective display coating in the Galaxy S24 Ultra. In the next-generation Galaxy S25 Ultra, this technology has been further refined to further improve screen readability in bright sunlight. Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to be the next stage in the development of this technology.

The company already holds a leading position in the field of anti-reflective displays. Apple’s solution in the iPhone 17 Pro Max, as well as the screens of the Pixel 10 Pro and OnePlus 15, are reportedly inferior to the current Samsung flagships.
There is no official confirmation of the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s specifications, but leaks suggest that the company plans to make the display one of the main technological advantages of the upcoming flagship.
