Honor has officially announced a new version of the MagicPad 3 Pro tablet with a 12.3-inch OLED screen, and live photos of it have already been shared online. The key feature of the device is its record-breaking body thickness of only 4.82 mm, which allows it to outperform even the iPad Pro.
For a gadget of this format with an OLED matrix, the declared parameters look extremely impressive. The exact release date has not yet been disclosed, but the new product is expected to enter the market in the near future.

Confirmed through teasers, Honor MagicPad 3 Pro 12.3 features an organic LED display with IMAX Enhanced certification and an impressive 5280 Hz PWM dimming frequency. Weighing 440 g and measuring 4.82 mm thick, the device is significantly slimmer than the current 13.3-inch model, which measures 5.73 mm, and thinner than the iPad Pro with its 5.1 mm. It is expected that the new modification will inherit the top-end Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform from its older brother. The device’s appearance is characterized by narrow bezels around the screen, a ring-shaped flash, dark gray color of the body and the presence of contact pads for connecting a keyboard on the back. There is no information on the cost and prospects for global sales, although the Chinese premiere is expected to take place in the coming weeks.

It was the OLED panel that was missing from the previous version of MagicPad 3 Pro, which debuted last year. Despite positive reviews for its performance, 165Hz refresh rate, and sleek design, users often complained about the use of a conventional IPS LCD matrix. The 12.3-inch model corrects this shortcoming by offering true color depth and high contrast. At the same time, Honor has implemented PWM at 5280 Hz, which is well above the limit of noticeable flicker. This was a direct response to one of the typical problems of OLED screens in tablets, which causes eye fatigue.
The 4.82 mm figure sets a new standard, as the iPad Pro with its 5.1 mm has long been considered the benchmark for minimum thickness in the premium segment. Honor has managed to reduce this parameter by almost 0.3 mm, which provides a tangible difference in ergonomics, not just a nice number in the specifications. Weighing 440 grams is also noteworthy, as most competitors in the 12-inch class weigh more. The combination of OLED technology and flagship hardware in such a lightweight body must have required some compromises from the engineers, so once the full specifications are published, we should pay special attention to the battery capacity.

Although leaks and official images have revealed the design and dimensions, some aspects remain unknown. The manufacturer has not yet officially confirmed the processor model for this particular variation, the amount of memory, and the exact battery capacity.
