Electrolyser manufacturer Green Innovation AD, better known as Hydrogenera, continues to expand its presence in Europe with an order to supply a 2 MW alkaline electrolyser for a green hydrogen project in Ukraine. The produced hydrogen is to be supplied as a renewable fuel to industrial customers in Germany.
The Bulgarian company will be responsible for the design and manufacture of the electrolysis stacks, integration of auxiliary equipment systems, electrical and power systems, as well as installation and start-up of the plant, among other tasks.

Hydrogenera’s German integration partner, Hydro Future GmbH, has contracted LE Power GmbH to implement the project.
Funding is provided by a grant from the German government, and the electrolysis system will be commissioned in Ukraine. It will produce hydrogen with a purity of 99.999%, which will be supplied to designated industrial customers in Germany. The system is expected to be operational in June 2027.

Hydrogenera was founded in 2016 and is based in Bulgaria. The company develops technologies for the production, storage and use of green hydrogen, including electrolyzers and internal combustion engines. In June 2025, it went public in Sofia.
