According to the Automotive Market Research Institute, in March, the total number of registrations of electric vehicles in three segments – new cars, imported used cars, and domestic used cars – amounted to 6361 units. This is more than twice as many as in February.

Analysts note that the most impressive growth occurred in the domestic resale segment, which rose by an incredible 124.6% compared to the previous month. They attribute this sharp demand to the fuel shock: the average price of a liter of diesel fuel reached UAH 86, while the price of A-95 gasoline remained at UAH 72.

In addition to domestic resales, imports of used electric vehicles increased significantly, up 84.9% compared to February, and the new car segment added 55.5%. In the domestic secondary market, the Nissan Leaf remains the leader in terms of sales with 661 units, followed by the Tesla Model 3 with 428 units and the Model Y with 311 units.

In the segment of imported used electric vehicles, the structure of popularity almost repeats the domestic market, but with a greater emphasis on more recent years of production and better technical condition. Here, the top three positions are also occupied by Nissan Leaf (204), Tesla Model 3 (197), and Model Y (197).

Analysts emphasize that the new electric vehicle segment in March was undoubtedly dominated by Chinese brands. The sales leader was BYD Leopard 3 with 33 units, followed by BYD Sia Lion 06 with 27 and Zeekr 001 with 26 cars.
