The start of the OxygenOS 16.1 rollout has brought the long-awaited system update to OnePlus 15 owners in India. The final build numbered CPH2745_16.0.7.201(EX01) has a size of approximately 2.1 GB. In the near future, the developers plan to scale the firmware release to other smartphones of the brand and expand the geography of its availability. The highlight of the release was the introduction of Live Space, an interface element whose concept may seem quite familiar to experienced users.

Live Space is a special area at the bottom of the locked screen that looks like a capsule. This tool allows you to monitor timers, control media players, or follow the score of sports matches in real time. In addition, the developers have significantly expanded the functionality of Live Activities. Now users can see the status of active calls, flashlight, map navigation tips, screen recording progress, and timers without having to unlock the device.
The visual component of the system has also undergone a transformation: the updated Control Panel and redesigned animations have made the interaction with the smartphone much more pleasant. Although the description of updates often mentions “smoothness” just for show, version 16.1 has done a lot of work on the speed of the interface’s response to touch. It is this reduction in the delay between physical contact and the start of action on the screen that creates the effect of true performance that goes beyond the results of synthetic tests.

OnePlus also paid attention to improving AI algorithms. The modernization affected photo processing, documentation, and translation accuracy. Although the company does not disclose the names of specific models behind these changes, the emphasis is on improving the efficiency of computing directly on the device, which allows for better results without increasing dependence on cloud services. Since the firmware is released in stages, the availability of the update can be checked manually in the device information section of the system settings.

First activate Always on in Nord series
Tell them to bloody improve their camera app usability. The camera app fails to take a simple picture a lot of times. My previous phone, the OnePlus Nord N30 SE had the same problem (but worse). I didn’t mind as much that time, as it was a sub 150$ phone.
But, I trusted in OnePlus, I loved OnePlus’ OS, and thus my current phone is also a OnePlus (Nord CE5, 8/256 GB). It is a mid-range phone, mid-range phones are OnePlus’ main cash cow. And yet, I’m facing the same bloody problem.
As a fan, I feel betrayed.
I just want them to fix all the bugs in the OS.
I like it
